Nurturing Harmony
1 May 2024 . 9.30am-11.00am . East Coast
Many of us often experience a sense of disharmony in our daily lives and it takes constant awareness and effort to bring the mind, body and spirit back into balance. Open up to more energy, serenity, flexibility, and well-being in this fusion of Qigong-inspired movements, Hatha Yoga and Yoga Nidra.
In her return to teaching and drawing from her own personal experiences in the last few years, Karen is determined to encourage rest in the body and mind.
Befriending Stillness
4 May 2024 . 2.00pm-4.00pm . River Valley
What comes to mind when you think of the word ‘health’? Most of our brains automatically think physical health — exercising and moving, healthy eating, drinking water and so on. And while physical health does play a large role in keeping our bodies in shape and functioning properly, our mental health is just as important to maintain to achieve a healthy and happy lifestyle. Explore mindfulness, breathwork, movement and restorative yoga in this 2-hour practice.
Suitable for everyone.
Mind body balance in a chaotic world
Every Friday in May . 9.30am-10.45am . East Coast
To raise awareness on mental health in May, Gentle Yoga on Friday mornings will journey through a different theme each week, taking inspiration from movement, breath, Chinese medicine, acupressure and meditation to bring about mind-body balance.
All are welcome.
Conscious Connected Breathwork II
27 April & 11 May 2024 . Both studios
Conscious Connected Breathwork is a transformative practice that help you process unresolved emotions and stress in a safe environment. It involves controlled breathing patterns and specially curated music to induce an altered state of consciousness, enabling emotional healing and spiritual growth. The fast, deep breathing pattern may lead to intense sensations, emotional release and expanded awareness.
May not be suitable for people who are pregnant or asthmatic. Pls check with your doctor.
Just Breathe
18 May 2024 | 2.00pm-3.30pm | River Valley
‘Kriyas’ mean specific cleansing exercises to move and awaken the body and spirit to prepare for movement and meditation. Each practice helps to cleanse the body and reduce common ailments and illnesses. Other benefits include boosting energy levels and stimulating digestion. In this session, expect to practise common cleansing and breathwork techniques like kapala bhati and nauli, breathwork, restorative yoga and a meditative practice to cultivate stillness and compassion.

Reviews About Us
ExcellentBased on 34 reviewsG Y2024-04-02Despite not having been practicing yoga for many years, I signed up for the Yoga Holiday to Hualien led by Li Ling and returned with having accomplished the mission of putting mindfulness skills to daily practice. The program was well-structured, enough time not just for yoga (x2 daily) but also for quiet time. I really appreciated the pace of yoga and meditation sessions that Li Ling led. Her thoughtfulness and leading the group with such ease and grace made the trip all the more memorable.Angelina Low2024-04-02My first going for a Yoga Retreat with KPY. It is an awesome mindfulness yoga retreat. Through the encouraging guidance by Li Ling, I got in touch with myself and learnt how to breathe to relax. The entire group was very welcoming and friendly. I could practice at my own pace and build confidence in what I can do. Grateful for my friend Foong Meng who brought me along. Grateful for the friendship with the group.TseWei Ho2024-04-01Joined KPY Holiday to Hualien at Chu Resort and had a fabulous time. Nice resort with great facilities for Yogis. Great planning which balanced good amount of yoga practice, me time, rest time, social time and also some exploration of local sights.Amritha Shetty2024-04-01Just went on a lovely KPY yoga retreat.. at Chu Resort in Hualien, Taiwan.. was a great experience- 4 days 6 sessions of yoga… being in nature.. light hiking at Taroko Gorge - the other open minded friendly yogis..and Li Ling’s thoughtful planning all made this a great yoga retreat! 😊Koon Sing2023-07-30Started my yoga practice with KPY since 8 years ago. This is a safe space as they offer ‘Yoga for Normal People’. I get to practise at my own pace and no one will judge. Highly recommend this cosy studio to everyone.Georgin Lau2023-07-29yoga for normal people is exactly what Kate Porter Yoga is about. It’s the only studio I go to and I enjoy the mindful practices that the teacher guides us through.Eleanor Ng2023-07-29Kate Porter lives up to its promise of Yoga for Normal People. I've attended classes here with different instructors over the years and there are always instructions to cater for different levels and also physical concerns such as old injuries. The East Coast studio is a lovely place. No air-conditioning but the studio is well-ventilated with natural light. This is welcoming space regardless of whether you're a beginner or experienced.Summer Choo2023-07-26No judgement, no frills, no mirrors. KPY has this safe environment where yoga can be practiced according to your pace and state of mind. I leave each session walking taller, feeling lighter and refreshed!Peg Chong2023-07-26I’m into my 6th year at KPY East Coast. It has really helped me in my post-retirement journey to grow strong & flexible. It has an easy comfortable feel, making everyone welcome. The trainers are excellent, always taking the time to get to know the students as many of us come with conditions like stiff shoulders, knee pain & more. And then provide alternatives to standard poses plus advice to address the problem areas. On top of that they are tremendously kind & generous.
