Meditation, as part of yoga, is a very effective means of dealing with the stress and strain of everyday life. The goal is to quieten the mind so that the mind and body can find stillness – a pause in the constant movement that is life. This is even truer in a busy place like Singapore.
Level: Beginners to advanced
Location: Laguna Park or other venues from time to time
Frequency: As required by the group
Equipment: Only yourself (leave your stress at the door)
Duration: 60 mins
Class aim: Find a moment of perfect peace
Fees: From $15 per hour
   

According to Patanjali, author of the Yoga Sutra’s:

“Yoga is the ability to direct the mind exclusively towards an object and to sustain that direction without any distractions…The mind can be conceived as a lake. Thought waves that arise constantly create ripple in the lake. Only when the surface of the lake is calm, can you see a true reflection.”

Or as Gurmukh so aptly put it:

“Meditation is a way of clearing away the mental clutter that surrounds the subconscious. When our minds are clear, we can see and experience the joy of our own soul."
